The act of looking for sites to participate in an upcoming trial is known as site feasibility assessment, and it has always been a challenge.  There were some software programs that can provide data to help with site feasibility, but at a cost that most CROs or small biotech companies cannot afford.  However, SiteFinder, a new tool from BrackenData that surfaces site data into a single visual dashboard, changes this.

This tool extrapolates the site information from trial records on ClinicalTrials.gov. From 240,000 trial records we’re able to surface data on 540,000 registered sites across the world.

We’ve used this tool to create a list of the most active trial sites in 2017, listed below. Before scrolling down, are you able to guess which cities these trial sites are in?

How It Works

Using SiteFinder, a user can search the entire ClinicalTrials.gov data base which currently has over 240,000 trials and about 540,000 registered sites. We can splice the data by a number of dimensions such as phase of the associated trials, sponsor type, geography, therapeutic area, and more. We can also look at the data year by year.  All data can be downloaded to an excel spreadsheet for further analysis.
